FDRL is in total desperate Mode

A week ago, DR Congo army (FARDC) confirmed it killed FDRL’s Supreme Commander in a military special operation which was planned in Hollywood movie alike.

Lt General Sylivestre Mudacumura was the commander of the militia that comprises elements blamed for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, which claimed lives of over a million Rwandans in three months.

He was wanted by the ICC on nine counts of war crimes. The counts relate to murder, inhumane acts, rape and torture allegedly committed by Mudacumura’s fighters between January 20, 2009 and August 31, 2010.

According to FARDC, its forces in the North Kivu Province killed him along with a number of his close lieutenants in “the chiefdom of Bwito” located in Rutshuru territory.

Previous Days, The FDLR spokesperson Ignace Nkaka, best known as La Forge Fils Bazeye, and Lt Col Jean-Pierre Nsekanabo known as Abega, the head of the intelligence were arrested by Congolese authorities and extradited them to Rwanda few days later.

The duo was arrested at Bunagana border in December 2018 returning from Uganda to attend a meeting held between15-16 December bringing together representatives of RNC and FDLR.

Overseas, Ignace Murwanashyaka, the founding head of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) died in German, in Mannheim University Clinic where he had been rushed from prison following a severe illness.

Lt General Mudacumura, Fils Bazeye, Lt Col Pirre Nsekanabo and Ignace Murwanashyaka make what we call C3 in military Sciences class.

Command, Control, and Communication (C3) is an information system employed within a military organization. It is a general phrase that incorporates strategic and tactical systems.

C3 systems span a continuum from the issuing of orders and the direct observation of activity, to remote directives and synthetic representation of resulting activity.

Situation like this which FDRL is facing, troops lose morale, courage and confidence in themselves.

In a military context, John Baynes defines morale as “the enthusiasm and persistence with which a member of a group engages in the prescribed activities of that group. “In the military milieu, “morale” and “motivation” are frequently used interchangeably.''

When soldiers have not morale, courage and motivation and confidence, which are pillars of engaging a war, they choose to withdraw from the war, put down weapons and run; finally, they disappear.

After a death of who was thought immortal, FDRL combatants are going to live in fear asking themselves who is going to die. While on the side, this operation built a sense of confidence and feel high motivated, which will continue to cast lives of FDRL combatants and other negative forces that operate in DR Congo jungles.

"The death of Sylvestre Mudacumura is good news for peace and security in the region," state minister for regional affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe told AFP.

A tweet of Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe following the death LT General Mugacumura.

FDRL is being weakened but Rwandan government should not feel that everything is finished. Even though they are now on its way to the hell, Rwanda should continue to strengthen a fight against the Genocidal ideology which FDRL is built on and continue being alerted.

Rwanda should also continue to cooperate with DR Congo to make sure that those rebels are totally extinguished.
